My take on India's Daughter

I saw ‘India’s Daughter’ on YouTube the day it was released online. Despite the hue and cry it had generated, the video had a mere 103, 895 views, around 8 hours after it was uploaded. A Bollywood item number would easily have crossed a 10 million.

I think the director did an impressive job of speaking all the key issues and a bit more. The documentary is quite touching and thought provoking. The multitude of the reasons why the crime has happened are explored and the gruesome details of her brutal and inhuman violation are vividly shown. The heart wrenching interview of the girl's parents made me well up though. The way the accused mukesh singh puts up his thoughts are scary, to say the least. The documentary for me was indeed a masterpiece and the viewer is left to draw his or her own conclusions.

Well for me it was turned out somewhat like this

First of all i wanna say is that Jyoti Singh was a very lucky girl. although born in a traditional family, her parents had a modern outlook. She was encouraged to study and fulfil her dreams and was treated like a male child.Just imagine the millions of girls out there whose parents don't have a modern outlook. Their dreams are crushed so early that they dare to hope or think of their dreams. The only future they think is to get a husband.

The Pati Parmeshwar("husband is everything") mindset has cross the hysterical limits. Yes many people were disturbed by the comments made by the two lawyers defending the rapist.

I wanna ask a simple question out here "who the fucking authority made such ill and filthy minded people lawyers"

The statements made by one of the lawyer M.L Sharma ""in our society we never allow girl to come out after 6.30 or 7.30 or 8.30 in evening with unknown person...

they left our Indian culture and were under the imagination of film culture....
you are talking about man and woman as friends.  Sorry, that doesn't have any existence in our society.  A woman means,I immediately put the sex in his eyes"" What the fuck is this.  How can such a jerk be a lawyer. His thinking is so fickle and out of the world. this comments are against the womanhood in general.

What really disturbed me more was the statement made by the wife of one of  the rapists. She said " without a husband i have no life, who will protect me, who will look after me... better i should die"  Just take a hypothetical scenario where the court acquits the man,  this lady seems quite willing to accept this man as her husband back. This is what her family and society would also advise her to do.

Instead of encouraging her to walk out of him and become an self-independent woman, educating her, giving her confidence and skills to lead her own life, her mindset is made so low and fickle minded.  ""Because you see woman have no life if they have no husband... Buzz off ""

What is wrong with people, i just can't understand. Has humanity no place in your mind and heart.

we can't improve our images by hiding the truth, we do it by accepting the truth and changing ourselves for the better. Only by improving our mindset with argumentative information exchange, we achieve that.Well solutions have to be thought of to eradicate the rape culture that is prevailing in India.

Beefing up an educated police force that handles sex crimes and cleaning up the legal system to punish the guilty severely with no mercy(they are simply animals in the face of humans)
From childhood i have heard that we should educate girls but now its high time that instead of girls we should educate boys.

Putting a ban actually reflects the government has the same mindset as the rapist and the lawyer... if u think that it would be shameful for India, I feel it is more shamefull not to hang the rapists. No wonder why 1 rape happens every 20 minutes making India a Rape capital on the world map. And it is actually very much rooted by the way a MALE CHILD is treated and brought up here in India. If you look into each family, you will know that we are brought in such an environment where atleast one of these crimes have been comitted.. dowry, marital rape, domestic violence, preference of male child over female, female foeticide, adultry is committed and we are so used to it that we think its normal. Men today are okay having an extra marital that doesn't disturb their family. They can keep a balance between the 2. I am yet to see a wedding where there is no dowry, except for when both have fled n wed. To hit wife and say... its our personal matter, she'z my wife and wife accepting it, marital rape..people do not even know it is a crime and 95% men commit it, while women never stop coz its ok if it is husband. This mentality is part of our upbringing... so to stop crime against women, we need 2 change the way we Indians are brought up.
